The Sun unleashed a powerful X5.1-class solar flare on November 11 2025 from sunspot AR4274 — the strongest flare so far this year. This burst triggered severe R3-level radio blackouts across Africa and Europe by ionizing the sunlit side’s upper atmosphere. Scientists also detected a fast coronal mass ejection (CME) accompanying the flare, which could combine with previous CMEs and possibly generate a G4 or even G5-level geomagnetic storm. | REAB
